El origen del universo y el sistema solar. 

What is it about?

You have a couple of minutes. 

It seems somewhat eccentric if not a little absurd to suggest that a planet is a living thing. Earth has life on it, but it’s not a biological organism. Any theory or argument which concludes that the Earth is alive could be safely filed under “wronger than wrong”.

So when James Lovelock and Lynn Margulis first proposed the Gaia Hypothesis in their 1974 paper  some seized on the possible implication that the Earth is a form of biological organism. 

The Earth is alive? Nonsense!

before we had this kind of arrogant thinking we should think about the Universe. Of course, the first question. "where does it come from??"  What is the energy allowed to arrive till today?

That´s the reason we need to study laws or models could explain about that. 

The first theory to explain the origin of the universe is the Big bang theory. Continue in English the main concepts about that... Here are in Spanish.

La teoría más aceptada actualmente para explicar el origen del universo es la teoría del

Big bang. Según esta teoría el universo se formó hace 14.000 m.a. a partir de una gran

masa densa y caliente que explotó, liberando toda la energía y materia conocida del

universo, incluyendo el tiempo y el espacio.

Tras esta explosión se produjo una gran expansión y la atracción gravitatoria entre las

partículas liberadas dio lugar a esferas gaseosas en rotación. Estas nubes poco a poco

tomaron forma de disco plano, para finalmente formar las galaxias.

Nuestra galaxia, la Vía Láctea, se formó hace 8000 m.a. y con ella se fueron formando

también los planetas y satélites gracias a los choques entre las partículas y la atracción

gravitatoria.

Nuestro Sistema solar se formó en un extremo de esta galaxia. Primero se formó el

protosol en el centro, por una concentración de gas y polvo cósmico y posteriormente a

su alrededor, se fueron formando agregaciones de materia en rotación (planetesimales).

Finalmente, estos planetesimales darían lugar a los planetas y satélites de nuestro Sistema

Solar (5000-4600 m.a.).

Have a look to the contents. First part... Is it something new?

After we had a look to the contents about the origin of the universe. It´s necessary we could difference the main theories and ideas about the origin of that.

Earth is not static. Becuase of that, there are two main theories about the changes along the history of the Earth.
CATASTROPHISM:

 It is based down the supposition that there had been sudden castastrophes that in a short space of time changed the Earth completely.
UNIFORMITARIANISM:

This theory is based on slow and imperceptible changes are produced over millions of years.


Now it´s your turn. Write down a resume about the other two theories. and look for a pic

Cómo va esa semana en casa... Tenemos para la semana que viene un tiempo de perros. Qué mejor que estar en casa cuando hace mal tiempo!!

Los cambios del clima en nuestro planeta se deben a dos aspectos. LAS GLACIACIONES Y EL EFECTO INVERNADERO. 

Con esta actividad terminamos el tema. 

Esta actividad es para intentar pasar un buen rato realizando los contenidos. Espero que te guste. 

En qué consiste? 

Vamos a realizar un stop motion. Al final te pongo algunos ejemplos 

Elige uno de los motivos. glaciaciones o incremento del efecto invernadero. 

Si eliges glacionaciones, como andamos con mucho tiempo te vendía bien ver alguna de la saga ICE AGE.

Una vez has elegido uno de ellos lee con atención en qué consisten y representa con stop motion o una historia a través de stop motion la explicación de los mismos.  EN INGLÉS!!

We have tried to explain the main concepts about the origin of the primitive atmosphere.

Why was this study done?

• The Euro-Mediterranean region arises as a major climatic hot spot because of global warming.
• Warmer temperatures should in principle contribute to an increase in the number of deaths because of heat.
• We do not know yet if and to what extent societal adaptation and/or socioeconomic development is modifying this expected increase.

What did the researchers do and find?

• We analysed daily mortality records from 47 major cities in Spain.
• There has been a general and sustained decline in the vulnerability of the population since 1980.
• Despite the observed warming, the decline of the vulnerability has generally contributed to a progressive reduction in the number of deaths attributed to heat since 1980.

What do these findings mean?

• It is generally believed that climate change will cause an increase in heat-related mortality.
• Societal adaptation and/or socioeconomic development contributed, up to now, to a general decline in heat-related mortality.
• It is still uncertain if this decline in heat-related mortality will also occur at higher future levels of climate warming.
